This product is standardized for the content of carvacrol and thymol, the main phenolic compounds in oregano. Each softgel contains 36 mg of carvacrol and thymol from an impressive 60-75% carvacrol oregano oil. Oregano oil has powerful antimicrobial, antibacterial and antiviral properties, as well as helps cleanse the intestines. The main phenolic compounds in oregano are carvacrol [2-methyl-5-(1-methylethyl)phenol] and thymol (2-isopropyl-5-methylphenol) are well known for their separate antibacterial properties, and when they come together in the form of oregano oil, they have an additional effect.
Oregano oil in our product is emulsified in olive oil as a carrier to avoid irritation of the gastrointestinal mucosa, which can sometimes occur when using concentrated essential oils. In addition, emulsification increases the particle area of the essential oil.
